Police Scotland are hunting for an individual who burgled an address on Mauricewood Bank.

A witness appeal has been launched to capture a person who illegally entered a property on Mauricewood Bank on Thursday 12 November. The house was entered between 12pm and 7pm, the culprit making off with several items.

Enquiries are ongoing to gather information which may lead to an arrest. Sergeant Michele Lindsay said:

Theft by housebreaking is a crime that significantly impacts on people’s lives and I would urge anyone who saw any suspicious activity or has any information in relation to the break-in to please contact police immediately.

Housebreakings have been frequent in the town over the past year, with thefts ranging from bicycles to cars. The Police are reminding people to lock their doors and windows when out and also to make sure that any sheds or outbuildings are secure.

If you have any information relating to this housebreaking, you can call the local Police division on the non-emergency number 101 or anonymously by phoning Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
