Had you gone for a walk in the morning of Friday 30 May, you may have wondered if it was a dream, as children and staff from Pinocchio’s nursery took to streets of Penicuik dressed as princesses and superheroes.

The colourfully dressed children, and big kids, decided to hold a sponsored walk in aid of the Sick Kids Foundation; and what a success it was. Walking a one mile route from the nursery in Eastfield to Angle Park, the nursery managed to raise £1,348 for the charitable organisation which helps run Edinburgh’s Sick Kids hospital.

The manager of Pinocchio’s nursery, Lisa Hamill told us:

We are delighted to inform of how proud we all are of the children and staff who took part to raise money for such a good cause and involve the wider community. The children throughly enjoyed dressing up and taking part exploring the sights and sounds of Penicuik. We greatly appreciate the support and sponsors we have received from everyone who donated.

During the walk the nursery said that passer-bys joined in and happily donated to the cause. Upon reaching the park, the Sick Kid’s bear joined in the celebrations with the children.

Well done everyone!
