Distressing Deaths Of Twenty Sheep

Approximately twenty sheep and lambs have been killed on a farm to the South of Penicuik.

Auchencorth Farm, located at Nine Mile Burn, has experienced a dramatic loss in their livestock numbers after around twenty sheep and lambs were killed in a dog attack.

The incident, which occurred between 5pm on Tuesday evening – May 14th – and 7am on Wednesday, lead to the injury of many other sheep in what has been described as “very distressing” event by a Police Scotland spokesman:

The death of these sheep and lambs has an obvious financial impact upon the farmer. However, the manner in which they have died is also very distressing.

The Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward. They wish for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious, or who may have any relevant information, to contact the Police on the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively an anonymous report can be given through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
