An all day charity gig has raised £836 for a community centre in Bonnyrigg that provides county wide care for adults with learning or physical difficulties.

The Cherry Road Centre has benefitted after two locals, Alan Henderson and Ross McVie, staged a multi-artist music event in the Craigiebield House Hotel. ‘Cherry Aid’ took place on the second of March and featured thirty musicians along with numerous stalls and a raffle that featured donated goods from supportive local businesses.

Some of the bands included ‘Dog Tired’, ‘KB Rebel’ and ‘Gaitorbait’.

The organisers presented the cheque to Brenda Thomson of The Cherry Road Centre in the Craigiebield Hotel. It was gratefully received and will now be put towards improving the centre to further enhance the well loved facilities.

Thanks are being given to all those who supported the event including the public attendees, bands and local businesses that allowed the event to go off without a hitch.
